Thomas Jefferson O'Neal married Sarah Bonner and it is believed they came to this area from North Carolina.  They had four Children: William, James Willis, Ann Thomas who married George Paysinger and Mary Jane who married Jim Connine.  They were all in general farming.  James Willis got his farm in 1896.  Prior to that he had bought his home place.  All of this family except James Willis left for Arkansas and Texas about the turn of the century.  Mrs. Sarah Bonner O'Neal was one of the early members of Kelly's Creek Church.  She moved her membership to Texas in 1892.

James Willis O'Neal married F.M. Smith.  Their children were: Emma who married Ernest Merrell, a Baptist Minister, William A.       and J.T. O'Neal.  James W. O'Neal's second wife was Anna but there were no children.  His third wife was Martha Susan Paysinger.  Their children were Eddie, Jessie, Wassie Bentley, Charlie Price and Henry Bernard.  Eddie and Jessie both died while just girls.  Wassie married Alton Sumners and reared a family in the community.  Their Children were David, Phillip, and Alta.  Charlie married Connie Dollar who died soon after and he later married Margaret Smith and they had five boys: Billy, a dairy farmer, Leroy, Horton, James Smith, and Wendell, who became a Baptist Minister.

J. T. (Tom) married Josie Wynee and their children were Hazel, Lourene, Tommie, and James William A.(Bill) married Bee Henderson. Their children were Fannie, Maggie, Curtis, and Carter.

J. W. O'Neal was a director in the Bank of Coldwater which closed in 1929.  He was a well liked person with a good sense of humor.  He helped many people in this area.
