Dear Trish:
Was perusing your site on your Maddux ancestors and thought I would pass on some information if you please
On our immigrant ancestor, Alexander Maddux(Maddox) who came over from England  on the Ship Abraham in 1635, you might wish to know that Ellinor(Eleanor) White, daughter of Lewis White was Alexander's second marriage, and she is NOT the mother of his son named Alexander.  He married first in 1640 a woman by the name of Elizabeth, last name unknown, by whom he had 2 sons and 2 daughters...his second son's name was Alexander, born in 1654.  His only child by his second marriage to Ellinor White was (Stephen) Lazarus Maddux, b. in 1655/56.'
According to the abstract of his will, Book 7 page 64, Northampton Co. Virginia drawn Jan 10, 1659 he states his children as being:  Thomas, his eldest son, Alexander his second son, Lazarus Maddux his third son, mother being Ellinor, his daughter Elizabeth Maddox Fisher and his other daughter, Ann Mattocks....
On Alexander's death Ellinor married again, twice, once to a man named Bozman and once to a man named Caine.  Stephen Lazarus Maddux is the only son listed in her will, as well. So the Alexander you have listed as being Ellinor's son was in actuality, her stepson, Lazarus' halfbrother.  I am descended from this Lazrarus Maddux directly.  Hope this helps
Sincerely,'Cassandra MacGregor
