Isbell Genealogy

This is a hand-painted coat of arms that was given to me several years ago as a Christmas gift by the late Marion William Isbell (founder of the "Ramada Inn" chain) after I had given him some Isbell family information.

The accompanying document says it was painted from the description recorded  in Papworth's Ordinary of Arms.

The arms are identical to the coat of arms sold by Halbert's of Bath, Ohio and several other companies profiting from the interest in armorial designs, but I also have seen two or three others (and have them somewhere).

I don't know which of the arms might be derived from one (if any) belonging to a direct ancestor of ours in England.
