More About JONATHAN LASLEY ENSOR:
Cause of Death: Fell from horse

Notes for RUTH JARED:
Jonathan was from Bristol, TN.  He came down South after leaving home as a young man.  Sixteen miles down Walton Road, (now highway 70) at Low Gap, Ruth Jared lived in the home of her parents.  There was no school near, and little social life where  young folks participated.  She wondered what her fate would be.  One night she dreamed she saw a young man riding a bay horse.  He had beautiful, penetrating blue eyea and was wearing a brown jean suit.

When Jonathan arrived in Middle Tennessee, he stopped for the night at the home of Jospeh Jared.  A few days after her dream , when Jonathan knocked at the Jared door, Ruth recognized him immediately as the man in her dreams.  It was love at first sight for both of them, and they were soon married.

Ruth's brothers had a sawmill in Sangamon County, Illinois.  Five years after Jonathan and Ruth were married Johathan took his family there.  On Dec. 23, 1826 Jonathan was killed from a fall from his horse.  Ruth started back to Tennessee with her little children in a horse drawn wagon.  One of the horses died, and she exchanged the other and the wagon for 2 oxen and a cart, and made her way back to the home of her father.
