John William Augustine & Rosa Barkanda
(married Sep 29, 1915) In 1965 they celebrated there 50th Wedding anniversary.
This was taken in the backyard of my grandparents house in 1965, the year they were married 50 years. John and Rosa Augustine, two of their children Libbie and Bud and all their kids and one grandkid (only one at the time). My dad Ed Clarke took the picture.

And last but not least, Cookie, Grandma's dog.

Libbie Augustine Clarke and Lucille Salmon Augustine's service sorority Gamma Fi Delta put on a "This is Your Life, Rosa Augustine" in her back yard one time. They had all sorts of people from her past, one of her teachers came and she was so surprised. They had her in a big chair (see below) so she could not see the guests until they were mysteriously announced and walked forward.

Seated left to right: Judy, Bud's daughter holding Gary her little brother on her lap, on the ground, Sandy Clarke, and Tommy Augustine (another of Bud's sons) and Ted J. Clarke (Theodore).
David must have been taking the picture.

It is in the side yard of the big house on Landover Rd. that John and Rosa lived in for years and years. They moved to Bladensburg when a doctor bought up most of the block (after 1965) and the house is a doctors office now.

The following two pictures were taken about 1941 in the back yard of the same house on Landover Rd.

The woman in the dark coat with a hat on and her back to the camera and the little girl in the hat and coat might be Laverne, Aunt Lucille's sister, and Carol Arnold, Laverne's daughter. The others in the picture on the left are Libbie in the dark dress with the lace collar that she had in the close up with her Mom and Dad, Aunt Lucille in the middle, Grandma(Rosa B. Augustine), Uncle Frannie. Half hidden is probably Uncle Bud and David is the little guy just showing through.
