Joshua Foy son of James Foy Sr. and Elizabeth Ward, was born in Onslow Co. 1786 and died in Onslow Co. 12-15-1851. He was married first to Polly Cox and owned a small Farm in the lower Southwest District (Verona- Town Point) of Onslow Co.

In the 1850 Agricultural Census, Joshua was listed as owning 100 improved acres and 40 unimproved, valued at 700.00. He also owned 3 horses, 8 milk cows, 5 other cattle, 20 sheep and 30 hogs, all valued at 300.00. During the year 1849-1850, he harvested 750 bushels of Indian Corn, 125 bushels of peas and beans, 2 bushels of Irish potatoes, 50 bushels of sweet potatoes, 4 ton of hay and he slaughtered 150.00 worth of animals. He also owned 50.00 worth of farm tools and produced 20 pounds of butter.

Joshua Foy was involved in county affairs. He held the polls of election in Lower Southwest District and was a superintendent of Commons Schools for a number of years. In Nov 1834 he was one of 3 commissioners to build a bridge across New River at Courthouse Ferry. He also served as a senator of Onslow Co in 1838-39,and operated a tavern at his grist mill on the southwest branch of New River.(This would be just 1 mile up the road on Hwy 17 south at Southwest Creek Bridge. The state of NC just torn down the old bridge and building a new one Today)

Enoch Jasper Foy	born in Onslow Co. 7-5-1819 died 2-8-1881 in Onslow Co. Married 3 times first to Delila Ann Ennett Nov 1845 second to Mary Ennett 2-21-1865 and third to Mollie T. Foy 3-18-1866.
Edward Foy	Born in Onslow Co. 1825, married 1-28-1851 to Sarah Ann Shepard. They had 4 children according to 1860 Census:   Edward Foy 35 Sarah Foy 28 Mary A. 8 Elizabeth 7 John T. 5 George W. 3
Jessie W. Foy	Born in Onslow Co. 1828, married 11-30-1843 to Elizabeth Melville
Thomas Foy	Born in Onslow Co. 1833, married Rachel Shepard 2-14-1871 Their children: Enoch Gardner Foy b.3-25-1878 d.1-1-1930 Mary Thomas Foy b. 8-3-1882 d. 4-13-1919 married Charlie Thomas Foy 12-18-1904
Joshua V. Foy	Born in Onslow Co. 1836 married first to Sidney Roten at the age of 16 in 3-5-1857 second to Lucretia Cooper on 1-10-1861 The 1860 Census Joshua V. Foy age 24 farmer single no children
George W. Foy	Born in Onslow Co. 5-13-1839 enlisted in Company E. 3rd Regiment NC State Troops died 8-28-1862 of Consumption. (Tuberculosis)
Serena Elizabeth Foy	Born in Onslow Co. 1845

Enoch, Edward, Joshua V. and George W. all served Faithfully in the Confederate Army
