Amos Simmons Foy, born October 10, 1810, in Rocky Run, Craven Co., N.C.; died February 14, 1861, in Elysian Fields, Harrison Co., TX. (See Picture of Amos Foy.) He was the son of Frederick Foy, Jr., and Margaret Roberts. He married Elizabeth Bishop Trotter (1821 - 1906). (See Picture of Elizabeth Bishop Trotter, taken ca. 1904)

    This photograph is four of the five surviving sons of Amos and Elizabeth Foy. The person in the front/right is E. Dudley Foy and the others are not identified. Assuming the boys are standing in birth order the following is a guess as to the identity of the other persons. Back/left would be James Madison Foy (1842-1897), back/right would be Joseph Sidney Foy (1849-1914), front/left would be Augustus Foy (1854-1928) and front/right is E. Dudley Foy (1860-1930). I believe Augustus is correctly identified as he and Dudley both appear to be younger than the other two people. I don't believe that the person in the back/left is Henry (1851-1934) based on other photographs we have of him (Henry most closely resembles the person in the back/left position. Back/right is definitely not Henry). Can any descendants of these people help with positive identification?
