Frederick James Foy, born Mar 18, 1785 at family plantation "Sugar Maple" near Hicks Run, Onslow Co., NC; died Sep 20, 1833 at his homesteadin Onslow Co., NC. He was the son of James Foy and Elizabeth Ward.

Frederick married Lency House Apr 11, 1809.
Known Children of Frederick Foy and Lency House are:

     
  1. Mary Elizabeth Foy, born Mar 21, 1813; married James Smith Abt. 1833 in NC?. Moved to Montgomery, AL with her husband.
  2. Edward W Foy, born Feb 20, 1815 in NC. Moved to Sumter Co. AL
  3. Eliza Ann Foy, born Dec 22, 1816.
  4. Fredrick Hill Foy, born Jul 4, 1820. Died young.

Frederick and Christian's known children include:
  1. James Harvey Foy, born Dec 14, 1821; died Nov 28, 1898; married Catherine O. House Dec 19, 1843 in Onslow Co., NC. James was a legislator and postmaster of Richlands, NC. He may have been the father of Laura Foy, born in 1845, who married Edgar Williams Ward in 1865.
  2. Christopher Dudley Foy, born Jan 30, 1824 in NC; married Francis F. Foy 1843 in NC.
  3. Frederick Napoleon Foy, born Jan 31, 1826 in NC; married Elizabeth Robinson in Oscala, FL. Was in Florida legislature in 1855. From the "Weekly Wilmington Journal", 23 Mar 1855: "Died at the residence of F.N. Foy in Oscalla, Fla. on March 1st, after a short illness; Mr. William P. Burns, aged 24 years; formerly of Onslow Co."
Frederick owned a sizeable farm in the Upper Richlands District. He was active in county affairs, including patroller & overseer of roads. He represented Onslow Co in the General Assembly 1824-1831.

The information on his wives and children is recorded in his bible "Frederick Foy Bible Record", recorded by Elizabeth Moore, New Bern, from the notes of Tucker R. Littleton, and found in the Onslow Co. Records
