Know all men by these presents that I W. T. Ensor, Senr of Washington County and State of Tennessee being in a low state of health but in my perfect mind and Memory do make this my last will and Testament lst I recommend my Soul to God who gave it and my Body to be, buryed by my friends and Relations and after all funeral Charges paid and all my Just debts paid I give unto my be-loved wife Martha all the land that is cleared which I did tend or have tend-ed for the use of herself to tend or have it tended for her support and use during her life or widowhood also the use of all the buildings that I made use of in my lifetime and the use of all the Stock of every kind during her lifetime also all the household and kitchen furniture to be for her own use during her life also it is her wish and desire to dispose of her beding and beds as she may think proper also for wearing clothes to be given unto her own daughters and my will and wish is that she Shall have that liberty and those beds and furniture belonging to-such beds and also her wearing Clothes to be Valued by two honest disinterested men which is to be taken out of their legacy of the estate I also will to Sarah Honeycut a horse beast worth fifty dollars in good trade and also a horse beast to Martha Buckingham worth fifty dollars in good trade as all the other Children got a horse beast my wish and desire is that each of these beloved Daughters be made equal with the balance of the Children and after my death and my Wife's death what property Remains to be equally divided among all the Children except the Land which my will is Wm. T, Ensor Junr and Thomas T. Ensor is to have which is two hundred and twelve acres William to have one hundred & six Acres where he now lives which is known by the name of the Carance tract of land lying on each Side of the Stage road leading from Jonesborough to Blountville And Thomas T. Ensor to have at his one hundred & six acres where I now live joining land with William Hail & Edmond Hodges and if the moveable property dont amount to each childs part of the estate the said above named boys to pay each Heir to make them equal with themselves as it is my will and wish that George W. Ensor my Grand Son Shall have an equal Shear with Wm. Beedles children of my estate as I have rais'd him from six weeks old to the present time and he is to have a Colt which was folded this last spring also a New Saddle & bridle and one Heifer which I have given him also one bed and bedstid a new turned bedstid painted red and also the bed covering all of which he is to have if he stays with us and takes cear of us untill he is twenty one years of age Also one Rifle Gun which I have just had newly stocked and a New Gunlock done by Mr. Gross a Gunsmith of §ulivan County I also appoint Thomas T. Ensor my Son as Administrator of Guardian of the above will in Witness whereof I assign my Name & Seal in presents of December 4th 1847
