(1)Enoch married Lucy Foy Sep 3, 1799 in NC. It is unknown what, if any, blood relationship there was between Lucy and Enoch. A child from one of Enoch's later marriages married a first cousin so a close relationship seems likely.

Frederick Napoleon Foy, born Jan 31, 1826 in NC; married Elizabeth Robinson in Oscala, FL. Was in Florida legislature in 1855. From the "Weekly Wilmington Journal", 23 Mar 1855: "Died at the residence of F.N. Foy in Oscalla, Fla. on March 1st, after a short illness; Mr. William P. Burns, aged 24 years; formerly of Onslow Co."

Frederick owned a sizeable farm in the Upper Richlands District. He was active in county affairs, including patroller & overseer of roads. He represented Onslow Co in the General Assembly 1824-1831.

The information on his wives and children is recorded in his bible "Frederick Foy Bible Record", recorded by Elizabeth Moore, New Bern, from the notes of Tucker R. Littleton, and found in the Onslow Co. Records

Joshua Foy son of James Foy Sr. and Elizabeth Ward, was born in Onslow Co. 1786 and died in Onslow Co. 12-15-1851. He was married first to Polly Cox and owned a small Farm in the lower Southwest District (Verona- Town Point) of Onslow Co.

In the 1850 Agricultural Census, Joshua was listed as owning 100 improved acres and 40 unimproved, valued at 700.00. He also owned 3 horses, 8 milk cows, 5 other cattle, 20 sheep and 30 hogs, all valued at 300.00. During the year 1849-1850, he harvested 750 bushels of Indian Corn, 125 bushels of peas and beans, 2 bushels of Irish potatoes, 50 bushels of sweet potatoes, 4 ton of hay and he slaughtered 150.00 worth of animals. He also owned 50.00 worth of farm tools and produced 20 pounds of butter.

Joshua Foy was involved in county affairs. He held the polls of election in Lower Southwest District and was a superintendent of Commons Schools for a number of years. In Nov 1834 he was one of 3 commissioners to build a bridge across New River at Courthouse Ferry. He also served as a senator of Onslow Co in 1838-39,and operated a tavern at his grist mill on the southwest branch of New River.(This would be just 1 mile up the road on Hwy 17 south at Southwest Creek Bridge. The state of NC just torn down the old bridge and building a new one Today)

Maurice is probably a misspelling of Morris. Carrie and Sidney are apparently Sidney Caroline Foy, a girl, not a boy as reported in 1850.

C. D. Foy married Francis Ellis Foy 1843 in NC. They were first cousins. She was the daughter of Enoch Foy and Phoebe Sanderson. Enoch and Frederick were brothers.

"The Sixty-seventh Regiment (N.C.Troops), was organized in January, 1864, and was composed of nine companies of infantry and one of cavalry.
Company A, from Craven, James H. Tolson, Captain;
Company B, from Craven, Stephen Barrington, Captain;
Company C, from Wilson, D. W. Edwards, Captain;
Company E, Charles A. White Captain;
Company F, from Craven, David P. Whitford, Captain;
Company G, Asa W. Jones, Captain;
Company I, from Pitt, Edward F. White, Captain. The other three companies, viz:
Company D, from Craven, Daniel A. Cogdell, Captain;
Company H from Duplin, Jones and Craven, Christopher D. Foy, Captain;
Company K (cavalry), from Wayne, Joseph D. Myers, Captain."

"Captain Foy was a man of 60 years, was six feet and a half high, wore a long, flowing white beard that reached to his waist and was unique both in personal appearance and in the influence which he wielded over the men of his company. He was familiarly known in the regiment by the name of 'Tecumseh.' When this writer first saw him he was marching at the head of his company of 65 or 70 men, who were following him, Indian-like, in single file."

According to our information C D Foy was only 40 or so at the time of the war. He may have looked older due to premature gray hair or something of the sort. Also our information could be in error.
